Reflection on Click reading

Out of all the articles that I have read, I think I find this one the most interesting. Many people now day just go to world known websites like Facebook, Google or Youtube but they never know how those websites got so big worldwide. Most of the internet users live in urban areas which makes sense because this is the root of where all modern technology is at. Almost all households have some sort of technology like a computer. Overall, there’s no doubt that there will be other new websites where they may surpass even Google. Until that happens, Google and other major websites will most likely continue to strive and be updated with all the newer technology that we get that will continue to change and shape our society.

Reflection on E-Waste

When I first read on E-waste, I was shocked and I also felt guilty because I had no idea that all of this was going on in another part of the world. It was a reality check because many people only think about their own lives and don’t really give second thought about the rest of the people in the world who are in conditions that we never would think of. Many of that unwanted technology scraps are made from toxics like zinc which people are exposed to every day. E-waste has ruined many peoples’ lives, and not only the people but the land that they were born in. I think there should be more action in solving this issue to better people’s lives. Some organizations are trying to do better. In 1995, Protestants led to an amendment known as Bowel Ban which forbids hazardous waste shipments to poor countries. People like these can help make a difference.

Should be Digitize Books?

I think that there are definitely a lot of pros and cons when it comes to digitizing books. If every book ever published was available for free on the web, how would the authors benefit from that? Their books wouldn’t be bought, meaning there would be no income for them. The good side from having books digitized would be that millions of trees would be saved. Well all know that books are made from trees and thousands of books are published each year. The amount of trees that won’t have to be cut down will be very high. I think that if books are digitized, but we have to pay for them then by all means digitize books. Yes, it would be the same as going to a bookstore, because we would still have to pay for it, but we would have easier access to them and paper won’t be wasted. The authors will still profit from their books and everyone will benefit from it.

Weaving The Web Reflection

I think that as more time passes our society becomes more and more dependable on the Web. For everything we want or need, we turn to the Web for help. Many people depend on it for everything, and it would certainly be utterly chaos if the Web was just removed abruptly. Even though the Web can benefit us in many ways, it can also hinder us. All the information we need is on the Web, so now our minds can’t be exercised like they should. We can’t get the knowledge that we could get because there’s no need for it since it’s all at the tip of our hands. Even though, the Web has helped us advance in many ways, and there’s no doubt that it will keep on helping us for everyday tasks, whether they be something small like shopping online or something big like keeping up with all sorts of files and data.

About Me

My name is Claudia Pineda, and am from Austin Tx. Some of my hobbies are to play the piano, read, sports and go camping. During the summer's I often travel to California and stay with my aunt. I really enjoy traveling and visiting new places. I come from a small family. I live with my parents and my younger sister. Much of my external family live far away so i don't get to seem them so much. I really enjoy being around animals. I have a golden retireve and a chihuahua, which are an odd pair but get along great and I have an African Grey Parrot. After high school, I plan to go to college and get a medical degree. As for music, I'm not reallt picky on what I listen to. I listen to almost all kind of genre and just listen to what I may like most. One of my pet peeves is when people are lound and obnoxious when I'm trying to do something. I don't like begin distracted when I want to get something done. I'm more of a multi tasker and try to get many things done at one time. Sometimes it is good for my but other times I can have a tendency to overwhealm myself with work. This is when I take some of the work load off and do one ting at a time. As of now, I like to take each day as it comes and enjoy life.
